Finally available OpenOffice 3.1 in Italian
For the past few days has been released OpenOffice 3.1, the new version of the popular open source office suite for word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, graphics, databases and much more. The software is completely free of charge for any use (including training).
Although it is not a major release, this version brings several improvements to the suite. The most significant is the rewrite of the module for displaying the graphics, which thanks to the introduction of antialiasing, it greatly improves the quality. The news are many, here is a list of the main outlet from the site of Italian OpenOffice:
Writer management (lyrics)
• Improvement of NOTES, which allow you to add responses
• Integration of grammar, which comes as an extension
• Use paragraphs such as titles or subtitles in the index for complex documents
Calc management (spreadsheets)
• Autocomplete driven formulas, which shows the syntax to use
• New features and improvements of many existing functions
• Improved sorting function
• Removal of some "bottlenecks" for performance
• Added the cursor to enlarge the status bar
• Rename the individual sheets with a double click
Chart management (graphic analysis)
• Flexible positioning of the axes, especially for scientific and educational
• Flexible management of numerical data "missing" in the series
Impress (presentations of management)
• Buttons on the size of font
Base (database management)
• Highlighting SQL Syntax
• Implementation of simplified macro applications
Internationalization and Localization
• Improved support for bidirectional text
• New locations: Maltese, Shuswap (Canada), Burmese and Tok Pisin (Papua)
