Frets on Fire: the hero pulls out of music in you!

Frets on Fire is a game multiplatform (Windows, Linux and Mac OS X) clone of the famous Guitar Hero, where players use the PC keyboard to play musical notes of the guitar scroll across the screen in order to compose a complete song.

The notes appear on screen synchronized with the song and are sounds when keys are pressed for time F1-F2-F3-F4-F5 (which by default correspond to the notes) plus the push of a button to select (usually ENTER or SHIFT). More consecutive notes are performed the greater the leverage points, which however will be reset to the first error.

The new version of the game has made improvements thanks to a new mode, called HOPO (Hammer on and Pull off), with which you can perform solos only change the keys of the notes, but holding down the button for selecting, simplifying and increasing the overall playability.

The game includes only three songs but you can expand it with hundreds of new pieces composed by the community and readily available online. This can also import your songs directly from Guitar Hero.

Frets on Fire is a good entertaining game open source has nothing to envy to the most renowned titles such as Guitar Hero and StepMania. It can be downloaded in its various versions, from the official website.
